God’s sovereignty means that he has the power to overrule any situation. It means, no one else in heaven, on earth and under the earth, and in the seas has the last word in/for your life. Only what God does in your life should be considered final as no one can undo what God has done…. To God the glory forever!

Hence, Apostle Paul writes in Romans 8:31, “What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? It means that you have nothing to worry about once God is for you. It does not mean that people will not be against you. They will but in vain because God is for you. How do I know that God is for me? The Cross of Calvary tells me that God is for me (cf. Romans 8:32).

Interestingly, my reading of the bible shows God using evil plans forged against his people/children to elevate them and accomplish his purposes. Let me draw your attention to the case of Joseph, for instance. His brothers did not like him, they were jealous of him, and sold him as slave -please read the story for yourself in Genesis 37 to 50. Interestingly, we read in Genesis 50:19, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.” See, what God intended for Joseph overruled the evil intent of his brothers to harm him. God allowed the evil plan to take its course but changed the final outcome!

I don’t know what you’re going through at the moment, and it does not really matter, but I know that the outcome is in God’s hand if you have entrusted your life to Him. Let me urge you to entrust your life to God in the name of Jesus Christ, if you have not done it yet.

Please allow me to share with you some of my favourite verses in the bible: Job 42:12a, “The Lord blessed the latter part of Job’s life more than the first.” And, Job 42:17, “And so he [Job] died, old of full of years.”

Let me tell you, there is always a latter part, that is, an after-trials part in the life of anyone who entrusts her or his life to God, and the latter part is always blessed more than the former or before-trials part for anyone who remains faithful and continues to look up to God, like Job did and for him trusting in God’s sovereignty was a personal thing. I pray that you be one such a believer in Jesus Christ’s name.

Yes, God is Sovereign.
