Jesus said, “out of the overflow [abundance] of the heart the mouth speaks.”
Now imagine a heart filled with the word of God in abundance or to overflowing. Undoubtedly, in this case the mouth of a person with such a heart would speak the word of God. This is very significant because the word of God has creative power, it is never without effect.
Isaiah the prophet puts it even more beautifully: “As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and make it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:10-11.
Wow! It means that there is no better way to impact our generation for good than to have the word of God fill our hearts abundantly so that our mouths will speak it forth….
